Video: President Obama Heckled By California Gays Over DADT

April 20th, 2010 · Comments

President Obama was heckled by California Gays over the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell (DADT) issue. The just surfaced video is below.

Protesters need to be well informed before taking on The President or they risk looking as silly as the clowns in this video.
DADT will be repealed after years of hard work but I don’t understand what good can come from heckling someone who agrees with you.

Anti-gay Bishop Harry Jackson Jr. is a Teabagger

April 18th, 2010 · Comments

So a Butt Pirate is now a Teabagger. The irony. Bishop Harry Jackson Jr. failed to stop gay marriage in DC and is looking for a new issue to pay the bills.
Talk To Action | Conservative Black Preacher Calls for Tea Party Makeover on Racism:

While many Tea Party spokespersons, leaders, and conservative columnists and bloggers appear to be oblivious to – or are in denial about — the racist incidents that have transpired at Tea Party-organized events, another prominent black conservative, Bishop Harry Jackson, seems to have gotten the message, or at the least, he is willing to try and deal with that unpleasant Tea Party reality. In a recent column titled “Is Brewing Tea Dangerous?”, Jackson, an African American conservative with strong ties to the religious right, first excoriated Washington Post columnist Colbert King — for his column equating some Tea Partiers behavior to the old segregationist crowd and to attendees at Louisiana rallies for David Duke —
and then suggested that what the Tea Partiers need is full-blown PR-directed makeover.

Elinor Burkett Pulls a Kanye West at 2010 Oscars – Elinor Burkett – Zimbio:

Before the makers of Music by Prudence, director Roger Ross Williams and producer Elinor Burkett, arrived at the Academy Awards tonight, they probably should have worked out who was going to say what if they had to give an acceptance speech. Elinor Burkett: the white female Kanye West?

As it was, many are already saying that Elinor Burkett “pulled a Kanye West,” by interrupting Williams in the middle of his speech. Twitter reactions were swift and against Burkett by a long shot.

California State Senator Roy Ashburn’s Gay BoyToy Exposed on Facebook

March 5th, 2010 · Comments

boy culture: Taken For A Ride: Exclusive NEW Information On Ashburn’s Arrest:

While I know the identity of the man I believe was in the car, I’m not revealing it yet—I wrote him to ask for a confirmation or a denial, but the only reaction from him so far was his decision to hastily delete some indiscreet Facebook status updates (reproduced within this post) and take his account private.

This married Senator was bold enough to be seen in gay bars with men half his age, yet nobody said anything. Why does the gay community enable people like him?

Anti-Gay Maggie Gallagher ripped by blogger

March 5th, 2010 · Comments

Whiskey Fire: disputes Maggie Gallagher illogical claims:

Maggie Gallagher, who loves homosexuals except in the “they deserve equal rights” sense, is very oppressed because her Jesus doesn’t want people she doesn’t know in a place she doesn’t live in to do things she won’t ever know about that wouldn’t ever affect her. This makes no sense, maybe, but still, it makes her weepy. To drive her point home, she says if gays can get married in Washington DC, Jews will be killed in Massachusetts.

DC Same-Sex Marriage Day

March 3rd, 2010 · Comments

D.C. begins licensing same-sex marriages – washingtonpost.com:

The line to get into the marriage bureau was composed of racially diverse couples of all generations and appeared to include more women than men. By the end of the day, 151 couples had filed to be married, far surpassing the dozen or so applications the bureau typically collects on a single day. Some brought their children or spoke of the importance of their change in status to their sons and daughters.

DC marriage law foes appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court

March 1st, 2010 · Comments

Pam’s House Blend just broke the news that gay marriage foes are trying to block the law by appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court. This is not good news. My guess is that the U.S. Supreme Court will block the law and require a referendum on the issue. The delay will mean that the anticipated Republican Congress will block the law if the referendum fails. This will be as easy as Bush vs. Gore.

Having exhausted just about every legal avenue to stop loving, committed couples in the District of Columbia from being able to marry, opponents of equal marriage have reportedly filed an 11th hour appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court asking the Justices to halt Wednesday’s issuance of marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
